Another quality result from the TM45 V6 Super Carbon today given the wind strength and water conditions. I started sailing early before the high tide and finished totally buggered at around 8pm, which eventually cost me a little because the best winds and speeds were after I had packed up! Never-the-less I managed to get some good times throughout the day which gave me a slight win on average speeds. Here are the results from the NAVI on the left and Foretrex on the right. I ran out of battery power on the NAVI and missed a few good runs at the end that might have raised my average. So I took the Foretrex result which clearly shows the extra runs in the results after 6:20pm (7:20AM GMT) which is about when the NAVI called it a day. I think I left the light on all day which is something we need to watch out for.
Again I used the '05 Missile, but this time I had an '06 Missile XS with me just in case the wind or conditions made it necessary to use. But the wind never really filled in enough to warrant getting it out. It felt good though to know I had it there in case I needed it. My results were good today but I did notice that the fin did not have the free-revving feeling that it displayed on the east bank. I put this down to the chop and disturbed water while I was sailing. Every now and then I managed to get a little acceleration that showed what was possible but it never lasted for more than a second. As the tide dropped very late in the day the fin started to perform a little better, and I am confident that if I had been able to sail during the low tide, the results might have been quite a bit different. Only time will tell. Here are the graphs of the best runs (pink range is 10 seconds) showing some short bursts on some of them:
