Lap Racing provides a method of analysing your performance through "gates", also known as waypoints. RealSpeed will provide results that show the best performances between the waypoints. If the track points return to the same point more than once then these waypoints get used again and again during the analysis. Results will then be shown for each completed lap or section of a lap depending on how many waypoints are used within each lap. It works as an effective lap counter.
To set up a Lap Racing division, first create a waypoint location by selecting it in either the Map View or the Speed graph.
You will then be prompted with the following screen where you can enter the latitude and longitude, and a proximity distance that specifies how close to the way point is required to be considered as having passed through it.
Next create a new division by selecting Add Division in the main Edit Menu, setting the division to a Lap Racing type. An alternate method of adding a new division is to right click the Divisions item in the Tree Pane.
The final step is to click on the Add Waypoints... button in the Division screen and select the waypoints you wish to add. Many waypoints can be configured for any course or division you wish to set up.
