File editing in RealSpeed is easy. Below is a condensed description. Use the links on the left to see detail on the more complex features.

Deleting Track Points - RealSpeed makes it a simple exercise to remove points. You might wish to remove points permanently or you might have a file that contains old and new data and you wish to remove the unwanted track points. To remove track points, using the track point window to select some points, then right-click the selected points and select Delete Track Points from the context menu.

 

Delete Invalid Points - this is a one-click removal of points currently marked as Invalid. Note that some track point situations mean that after removing an Invalid point that the next point becomes invalid. So it is often worth investigating these and if suitable run the Delete Invalid Points 3 or 4 times to get all Invalids removed. To delete Invalid points select the menu item from the main Edit menu. 

 

Marking Track Points Invalid - To mark a track point invalid allows a track point to be eliminated from the calculated results without removing the track point.. Using the Track Point Pane, right click the track point and select Mark Invalid. 

 

Sort Track Points - to sort a file first select the file to be sorted then from the Edit menu select Sort Track Points. This will sort all points in the selected file into time order.

 

Delete Slow Points - This is a good way to reduce the size of the file and make display and calculation much faster. To delete slow points first select the file you wish to affect then select Delete Slow Points from the Edit menu.

 

Splitting a Track File at the focus point - To split a file first select a single point that will mark the start of the second file and then right click in the Track Point Pane or Speed Graph and select Split Track File. More detailed information is available by clicking the link on the the left.

 

Splitting a Track File by Date - First select the file you wish to split then select Split Track File By Date. It is also possibled to have all opened files split into separate day files by setting the option in Tools/Options....

 

Combining Two or More Track Files - To combine two or more tracks first open all the tracks that need to be merged, and no more. Then right click the TrackFiles item in the Tree Pane and select Create Combined File. More detailed information is available by clicking the link on the the left.
