Divisions in RealSpeed provide a way to analyse the data in ways that suit your personal needs. Once you have defined a division it will be saved into a settings file called default.rsp which resides in the same folder as RSpeed.exe. There are a number of types of divisions, each with their own special purposes:
Saving Divisions and SettingsBy default, RealSpeed saves the divisions automatically in a file called default.rsp. This default configuration file resides in the same folder as the RealSpeed program called RSpeed.exe. If it doesn't exist then RealSpeed will create it for you. This configuration file contains both the divisions and settings that specify how you want to analyse your data. The types of divisions you need may vary depending on the sport, so a number of configuration files can be created. You can create your own configuration files by selecting Save As... from the File menu and saving to a file with an RSP extension. For example you might choose to create a Sailing.rsp and a Cycling.rsp, each with their own particular settings. Some are provided here for you to choose from. Simply copy one of these configuration files to your RealSpeed folder. To open an RSP file select File/Open... If you select a file with an RSP extension then RealSpeed will load the divisions and settings contained in that file. This can be done while a track file is already loaded without losing the track file. The results will automatically be recalculated based on the new divisions and settings. Once you have saved or used more than one RSP file, these files will be available to be selected in the File/MRU (most recently used) list. This makes changing the divisions a simple File menu selection. If you want to use RealSpeed regularly for a number of sports, you can also use a separate folder for each sport and put a dedicated copy of RealSpeed, the dlls and a default.rsp into each folder. This way you can provide a shortcut to each version of RealSpeed depending on the sport.
Example RSP filesBelow are some example RSP files that you can copy to your computer. Note that each RSP file comes in two flavours, one using doppler and one using track point locations to determine the speeds. The doppler speeds are far more accurate and these are the preferred option if you are using the GT11 GPS. All other GPS's will require the track point version of each RSP file. For Locosys GT11 and (BGT11) For all other GPS units:
